Raziye Kocaismail was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991. Thanks to the sensitivity shown by her family and relatives, she went to the UK with a budget barely covering the expenses of surgery and treatment. The financial support of her relatives and their loving hearts were her motivations but being away from her children and many other problems caused her some negativities. All these negativities and the hope of returning to her children sooner pushed her to strictly follow the doctors' orders. Then, her full recovery hopes were collapsed with the second and the third surgery that she had. Both the financial and emotional collapses resulted as her decision to establish an association in order to eliminate these negative experiences of cancer patients and to create added value to the island. She had to live and ensure the founding of such an association. On 26 May 1993, this association was founded. Being a pioneer in the establishment of centers where cancer patients can receive treatment in their own country with the motivation of being right next to their loved ones and bringing experts who will administer cancer treatment in these centers to the country, have been the biggest and main purposes of this Association. In this context, the Association has been serving since 26 May 1993.
